Here at Wow Energy we specialise in installing in-roof solar panels to houses with slate roofs and although we are based in Macclesfield in Cheshire, we are happy to travel around the Northwest of England when somebody needs skilled team of solar installers to work on their house.
This example of our work was carried out in Sedgwick on the edge of the Lake District in Cumbria and here we worked with a local builder to install fifteen JA Solar 440 Watt all black panels with GSE in-roof mounting trays onto a slate roof. The solar panels were installed with Enphase micro-inverters as these are a very reliable alternative to a string inverter and perfect for an in-roof installation.
This large converted barn has a South facing roof which is perfect for solar panels and the original roof needed replacing as the concrete tiles were starting to fail. Installing in-roof solar panels at the same time as carrying out re-roofing work as it saves money on the installation cost of the roof and the solar installation.
We were able to work along side the local builder sharing the scaffolding and by working together we were able to complete the solar panel installation in two days and the new roof installation was completed shortly afterwards.
The 15 JA Solar 440 Watt all black panels complemented the new slate that was fitted to the roof and the customer was very pleased with the final result.
The solar installation will produce 6250 kWh of electricity in a typical year and part of this will be used directly in the house and during the sunnier days, excess electricity will be saved the Enphase 5.0kWh battery storage system that we mounted on a sheltered external wall. The Enphase IQ5P AC coupled battery perfectly compliments the solar panel installation which use the Enphase micro-inverters as the whole system is monitored and managed within the Enphase Enlighten App.
